Massage guns seem to be gaining popularity amongst fitness enthusiasts, athletes, and those who suffer from muscle pain and tension. With a wide range of options available in the market, finding the right one can be a daunting task. Recently I received a Bob and Brad C2 massage gun for the purpose of reviewing it. In this post I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun.
Note: I did not pay for this review sample, but will be keeping my opinion honest and fair.
Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun Overview
The Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun is a compact, handheld massager that delivers percussive therapy to relieve muscle soreness, stiffness, lactic acid build-up, and tension. It is designed to provide deep tissue massage with five different speed settings up to a speed of 3200rpm. The gun also comes with five interchangeable massage heads, each designed to target specific muscle groups and provide different levels of intensity.
One of the standout features of the Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun is its size. It is small enough to handle with one hand, which really helps when needing to get to those otherwise difficult to reach areas like your back and shoulders.
Of course size equates to portability too. The carry case is nice and compact, making it easy to take with you on the go, and simple to pack in a bag or suitcase without worrying about anything getting damaged or lost.
The Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun is currently priced at around $100 (about £90 in the UK). This is a fair bit cheaper than many other massage guns on the market with similar features. Despite its low price point, the massage gun feels sturdy and well-made. I haven’t had any reliability concerns, nor faced any issues.
The whole package actually feels quite premium for the list price. Opening up the included carry case reveals a neatly molded holding area containing all the parts and attachments, and a well written manual which includes operating instructions and massage techniques for different muscles and areas of the body.
Looking at packaging specifically, a useful feature to have included in the carry case would have been a pull-tab under the main massage gun to help lift it out of it’s molded section.
Moving on though, a positive feature of the Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun is its battery life. A full charge can take around 3 and a half hours, but once charged, it’ll last you ages. I still haven’t yet exhausted the initial charge and have been used it for many hours over multiple weeks now.
Speaking of charging, this is done with the built-in USB-C attachment on the bottom of the handle. I was really happy to see this, as USB-C cables can be inserted in any orientation, and most of our newer devices around the house use this connector, meaning we can standardise on these chargers.
Operation and Performance
In terms of performance, the Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun delivers some strong percussive therapy that does a good job at relieving sore and stiff muscles. In terms of noise levels, I don’t feel like the C2 is any quieter than other brands. (I have one other type at home to compare to, which is slightly larger than the C2). They both sound roughly the same on highest and lowest speed levels. That said, the noise isn’t much of a concern at all. I can sit in the living room while others are watching TV and use it without any complaints.
My main use for the C2 has been to work out tight muscles after longer and harder trail running training sessions. My primary use case has been for the hamstrings, glutes, and calf muscles.
In the manual is a selection of pages showing which attachments along with motion, and rough timing to use for each muscle group.
C2 Performance post extreme event
The C2 has been a bit of a life saver for helping warm up muscles whenever I needed to move around in the week following the Wild Horse 200 South Wales (earlier this month).
Who would have thought that running 200+ miles over 84 hours would result in the body and muscles seizing up every time you sat down for more than 10 minutes or so?!
I kept the C2 handy for mornings getting out of bed the week following the Wild Horse 200. Inevitably, my calf muscles and hamstrings would be exceptionally tight each morning. A quick 1 minute pass on each muscle group of each leg would get them warmed up and mobile, allowing me to move at a pace faster than that of a 90-year old man! On days I didn’t have it, I would literally hobble out of bed for a minute or so until the muscles were loosened up enough.
Areas to Improve
One small issue I had with the Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun is the Flat head attachment could have been molded with more of a chamfer or curve to the edge of the flat head section. The edge feels slightly “sharp” and can be uncomfortable if you move around a muscle with too much tilt. However, this is not much of an issue if you keep the gun perpendicular to your muscle as you move it around, which is generally what you should be doing with the attachment anyway.
Final thoughts
Overall, the Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun is a great option for those who want a fairly lightweight, portable massage gun at an affordable price point. It’s small enough to take with you on the go, has a long battery life, and delivers effective percussive therapy that helps to relieve lactic acid build-up, muscle soreness, and tension. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of more expensive products, it certainly gets the job done and is well worth considering.
The only real issue I found was one of comfort with the flat head attachment, but that is easily resolved by ensuring you keep the massage gun perpendicular during use. Other than that, you’re getting a really good package and product at this price point.

This is a great review! Thanks, Sean!
I have a very bulky and heavy massage gun. Not ideal for a comfy massage! Plus I need to plug it in, which means that the cord keeps on getting in the way.
The B&B C2 massage gun seems so much more practical. I will definitely keep an eye open for it when my old one finally breaks down (I might help it along…)
Yep, sounds like a new one is on the horizon for you whether yours packs in on its own, or enters forced retirement 😂 There is also a Q2 model which is much smaller, though I haven’t personally tried that one.
